February 2012 Issue
Dear friends,
I am delighted to be writing this letter to our readers—my first one as the new Executive Director here at Forward Movement. These are exciting times in the life of the church, and Forward Movement has a unique opportunity to proclaim the Good News in fresh ways.
Rest assured that Forward Day by Day and Día a Día will continue much as they have been published for decades. The meditations that you love will be available in print, but you can also choose to receive them in a daily email message. They are posted on our website, where you can leave comments and interact with some of our authors. Soon we will offer a mobile app for our readers with iPhones and other smartphones.
In all this, our goal is unchanged from our founding in the mid-1930s. Forward Movement exists “to reinvigorate the life of the church.” I hope these meditations will nourish your life. If you have suggestions or comments, I am eager to hear from readers.
February’s meditations were written by two Hispanic priests, both first-time contributors. The authors for March and April are both priests who have written for Forward Day by Day before.

Prayers included in the Forward Day by Day print edition:
These prayers are collects from The Book of Common Prayer.
Second Sunday after the Epiphany
Almighty God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ is the light of the world: Grant that your people, illumined by your Word and Sacraments, may shine with the radiance of Christ’s glory, that he may be known, worshiped, and obeyed to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
For the human family
O God, you made us in your own image and redeemed us through Jesus your Son: Look with compassion on the whole human family; take away the arrogance and hatred which infect our hearts; break down the walls that separate us; unite us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and confusion to accom-plish your purposes on earth; that, in your good time, all nations and races may serve you in harmony around your heavenly throne; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
