It is less so now, but certainly other characteristics may make people treat others as partly human--such as, in these days, sexuality. The "crazy man" in this passage of Mark often reminds me of her when she is screaming or having a tantrum (especially in public). Those who don't know her might think she's "crazy" or scary. I take comfort in knowing that she was created by God for a special purpose. Unlike our friend in Mark, my daughter does not have an unclean spirit.
