Isaiah 62:1-5. ...but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her.
Does God call us My Delight Is in Her when we fail to appreciate God's blessings in our lives? When we get wound up over something, and wind up someone else and pretty soon we're all shouting and saying hateful things to each other? Does God delight in us then? When the heat and the dirt and the bugs and the food all irritate us, and we can't believe we're doing whatever it is we are doing and we simply want to quit – to quit – this way of life?
How can God delight in us and call us by that special name, why would God delight in us, when we refuse, even for a moment, to delight in God in return?
O Lord, in our weakest moments, when we absolutely fail you, please ... do not fail us. Do not turn away from us. Do not forget to delight in us, even at our worst moments.
