THURSDAY, March 25 The Annunciation

Luke 1:26-38. Then Mary said, "Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word."

What would your answer have been? I probably would have said, "That's a fantastic idea, Mr. Angel, but if we do it your way, I'll miss working out tomorrow. Also, I had plans for this weekend. It's not that I don't want to, it's just that, well, you know, I'm pretty busy. So could we do it my way?"

I have recently felt more at peace than I've ever felt before. I'm also happier than I've ever been. Healthier. Most free. Most successful. Most grateful. I think I'm starting to realize God's will in my life, accepting that God wants good for me.

Thing is, I wouldn't have picked this route. I would have chosen an easier, softer way. I now know there was no other path for me except the one I've walked. Every wrong choice, mistake, and painful moment has been a step in this journey. For this reason, my prayer these days is:
God.
Whatever.
Thank you.

It's not a foot-dragging, whining whatever. It's a whatever from a person who is beginning to realize that God has a bigger and better plan than he does. Mary said the same thing. (1965)

Written by Marco,

I truly share similar thoughts as today's writer. Many times I would not have chosen
the path that I have walked for the past 70 years, and continue to walk. When I think,
say. and pray, "whatever, God," I intend no disrespect or in difference...whatever...your will be done on earth, as it may be done in heaven. Amen.
Thanks be to God!
Lift Your Voice Rejoicing Mary - Hymn 190

Written by Steve Doutt,

How can I compare myself to Mary. Faithful servant of God. Hopeful Mother. Loving Mother. Proud Mother. Worried Mother. Anguished Mother. Devastated Mother. Grieving Mother. Joyous Mother of God on Earth. Thank you Mary, for your faith, hard work and love. I can only pray, with the writer of today's meditation, God, whatever you have for me to do, thank you.
Great Hope

Written by David Bowles,

Mary is representative of all women. All women suffer, bear children, worry over those children, and greive over lost children. Mary represents the love and compassion that all women have. And these are the same traits which she lovingly passed along to her son, Jesus.
