Philippians 2:12-30. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

There comes a time in our lives when we have to figure things out for ourselves. We face situations with no clear answer, and no one can tell us exactly what we should do.

St. Paul could not be with his beloved Philippians again, nor could he tell them everything they ought to do. In his letter, he reminded them that he loved them, that they were God’s beloved, and that they were bound together in community through Christ Jesus. He told them to remember what he had taught them, to stay together, to serve one another, and to share the gospel—and then, to work out their own salvation.

When we have to decide for ourselves, we are alone, floundering with no help. We have all that the Philippians had—even if we sometimes forget this.

If you are in such a place in your life right now, do not be afraid or discouraged. You are not alone. God loves you, and you are a precious member of the Christian community. Claim this. Draw from it.

If anyone believes, he is in the communion of faith; if he loves, he is in the communion of love; if he prays, he is in the ocmmunion of prayer.

Dark times

Sep 08, 2011 at 9:51 am

Written by Mary kier,

Whenever I hit the inevitable dark times it can be lonely and confusing. I start to feel lost and have trouble connecting with God. Eventually things clear and i am back on the path intended. We all stray from God's intention. However when we come out into the clearing it seems we are renewed and hopefully wiser. May I recognized the Holy spirit in all things good and bad.
