Dear friends in Christ,
Back before the pandemic, Forward Movement organized quite a few conferences. We worked with partners to offer Evangelism Matters twice, encouraging and equipping congregations and individuals to share the Good News of Jesus. And several times, we offered discipleship conferences, hoping to inspire church leaders in their disciple-making and to give the tools for that work.
I’m delighted to invite you to come to a new conference, Renewing Discipleship, to be held January 12-14 in Houston. We will be hosted by Palmer Memorial Church, a thriving congregation. And I am grateful for support from the Diocese of Texas for this event.

The conference will offer both inspiring plenary sessions and practitioner-led workshops to help you make disciples in your local church. You can learn more about the program on the conference website. If you register before October 20, the registration fee is only $195. You can stay wherever you like; we’ve gathered a list of hotels near Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church to help you in your search.
When I was a parish priest, I found it invaluable to attend conferences with a couple of lay leaders from our church. We learned new ways of being the church together, and then we went home to put our new learning into practice. I hope you’ll consider coming to the conference, perhaps with others from your church.
I hear regularly from church leaders that they want their church to be more vibrant to change lives and to meet the needs of the world, but they’re not sure where to begin. At Renewing Discipleship, we’ll help you remember to keep the main thing the main thing and then we’ll give you some specific ways to do that in your context.
Hope to see you in Houston.
Yours faithfully,

Scott Gunn
Executive Director
