Dear friends in Christ: We welcome back Margaret Ellsworth, Forward Movement’s Content Marketing Manager, as our guest author this week.
I’ve just returned from one of my favorite work events of the year – our in-person staff retreat. As much as I love problem-solving and praying with my colleagues from my home office, it’s such a great joy to spend time with them face-to-face. This year, we even got to share our retreat with the Forward Movement board of directors.
We got to spend time just connecting and having fun, singing hymns and playing board games together. But we also spent a lot of time dreaming together about where God is leading Forward Movement next. What sort of offerings could we put together to help disciples pray? What challenges will we be facing in the years ahead?
My colleagues and I are back at our home locations now, putting those dreams into action in the short-term. We’re unboxing shipments of new Advent calendars and drafting devotions for next year’s Forward Day by Day. But the board is still together, working on steering Forward Movement into the next few years of its ministry. I’m so grateful for the chance to be a part of this dreaming, and to see where we will end up next! Keep us in your prayers – as we all, both staff and board, continue to pray for you.
