Dear friends in Christ,
A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned a conference that Forward Movement is offering in January. Renewing Discipleship will be held January 12-14 at Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church in Houston, TX.
The conference is for lay leaders and clergy who are seeking to be more effective at making disciples in their churches. We’ll have inspiring plenary talks to encourage you in your work. And the workshops feature practical application—what does all this look like on the ground? If you come, you’ll leave excited and empowered to increase discipleship locally.
We’ve offered similar conferences in the past, and feedback tells us that conference attendees grew and learned together—including in their own journey as disciples.
If you’re not in Houston, you’ll of course need to travel there. Hotels are not too expensive, and you’re likely to enjoy good weather in January. We price the conference registration to be affordable, because we want to make learning accessible to congregations of all shapes and sizes.
I’m mentioning the conference again this week because we’ve recently announced some of the presenters, and there are more details now. If you register soon, the conference is just $195 (including some meals!).
When I tell you that many attendees of our previous conferences have said it’s the best conference they’ve ever attended, I’m not exaggerating. I can’t promise you’ll say that, but I can promise you’ll find ways to renew your work making disciples of Jesus Christ—in a time that can only be described as challenging. And, also, now more then ever, people are craving Good News. By God’s grace, we can share the love of Jesus and experience growing churches as people’s lives are changed by the grace and mercy of God.
